DANGER! WARNING! Big mine bosses running jobs scare campaign

06 May 2010

The Australian Workers' Union is distributing a special leaflet to fight mine bosses lies, spread to scare workers' and their families.

super tax warning flyer a4(smaller) [super tax warning flyer a4 smaller .jpg]Labor is going to make sure that all Australians share in the resources boom not just New York and London suits.

Suits in New York and London spreading outright lies!

But the head honchos in the mining companies are running scare campaigns to protect their massive pay packets.

They will say that your job is at risk because of the new Resources Super Profits Tax – that is an outright lie.

Handout our leaflet: Make sure the scare campaign doesn't work

The Australian Workers’ Union is distributing information to mine workers to make sure the scare campaign doesn’t work.

Download our flyer – print it off, pass it around at work, stick it up in workplaces or the local pub.

E-mail: minebosseslies@nat.awu.net.au if you catch your boss spreading lies

If your boss is spreading lies at your mine let the Australian Workers’ Union know asap. Send us an e-mail on: minebosseslies@nat.awu.net.au

Make sure any workmates or family members who get concerned about what mine bosses are telling them – or worried by the letters they are sending home – see a copy of this leaflet.

AWU will make sure the job security of members comes first

Remember this is not the first time that the mine bosses have run around like Chicken Little and suggested the sky is about to fall in – and we’ll all be ruined.

The union is happy to sit down with the mine companies and with the government and make sure the job security of our members comes first.

Profits from natural resources should be shared with all Australians

But we know that the new tax will not cost any jobs in the resources sector – in fact it will spur on job creation.

Labor’s proposal will simply ensure that the profits of our nation’s natural resources are shared with all Australians.

It will be reinvested in mining communities rather than lining the pockets of the super rich.

After all these resources belong to all of us not just the big mine companies.

Download our flyer – print it off, pass it around at work, stick it up in workplaces or the local pub.
